Liam Herbert began carving wood at
the age of eight under the tutelage of renowned abstract wood
expressionist, Raoul Hague, in Woodstock, New York. This began a
life long passion for sculptures as a medium for his art.
Liam's slender, angular wood
carvings and limited edition bronze sculptures flow with
inspiration, diversity and beautiful expressions of life. His
art explores the human conditions; fear, anger, grief, hope,
faith and love.
Five artists have influenced and inspired Liam's art forms. He
states "I draw my inspiration from Modigliani, Brancusi,
Giacometti, and Gustav Vigeland, a famous Norwegian sculpture.
Modigliani and Brancusi have given me an appreciation for the
simplicity of forms. |
